My recent works are intimately sized, realistic paintings of birds in unusual situations on unique structures.  All works are oil, acrylic, spray paint, pen and mixed media on birch veneer plywood panels.  The birds in my paintings are often visual metaphors for real life situations, sometimes referencing historical events, mythology, my children, my wife and even me in precarious situations. One of the most interesting parts of my images is the contrast between the natural curved shapes of the birds against the rough, often obtrusive objects on which they stand.  I am constantly working with new color combinations while experimenting with various brush, spray paint and raw pigment techniques.
